An extra reward awaits the Saslong specialist

The ski racer who scores the most World Cup points in the two classics on the Saslong on the last weekend before Christmas can look forward to a special prize for the first time this year. The winner of the Val Gardena South Tyrol Ski Trophy will receive a true-to-original 3D wooden bust, as well as extra prize money of 5000 euros and a short vacation in Val Gardena. For the first time, the Val Gardena South Tyrol Ski Trophy will be awarded in Val Gardena to the racer who scores the most World Cup points in the Super-G on Friday, December 18th and the following day in the classic downhill. If two racers have equal points, the athlete with the better placing in one of the two races prevails. If there is a tie here too, then the better result in the downhill decides in favor of the winner. An incentive for the best speed drivers “With this initiative as part of our speed races, we would like to create a further incentive for the best downhill skiers in the world and honor them for top sporting achievements in both disciplines,” emphasizes Rainer Senoner, President of the Saslong Classic Club. This campaign was realized together with DOLOMITES Val Gardena Marketing. The true-to-original 3D wooden bust of the successful racer will be on public display. It can be viewed by all ski enthusiasts in the “Hall Of Fame” at the Saslonch Hut. There are also the busts of Kjetil Jansrud, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde and Rasmus Windingstad, who won the South Tyrol Ski Trophy in recent years. From 2016 to 2019, this prize was awarded to the athlete who was able to collect the most points in the four South Tyrolean World Cup races in Val Gardena and Alta Badia.
