“Azzurri” go down in the team event

The “Azzurri” had no chance at the team event as part of the World Cup final in Sweden on Friday afternoon. In the quarterfinals, Alex Vinatzer and Co. were defeated 0-4 by Germany.

Bassino starts off badly Marta Bassino botched the start in the first parallel slalom. DSV starter Marina Wallner won the duel confidently and made it 1-0. As the second starter, Vinatzer from Val Gardena had to compete with Alexander Schmid. A threader robbed Vinatzer of all chances. Schmid easily made it 2-0 for Germany.

Lena Dürr finally made the decision in Germany's favor in the third run. She gave Irene Curtoni no chance and made it 3-0. The 4th duel between Bolzano's Riccardo Tonetti and Linus Straßer should only be a cosmetic result. Tonetti had to admit defeat. World Cup victory for Sweden In the other quarter-final duels, Austria (with Katharina Liensberger, Marco Schwarz, Katharina Gallhuber and Manuel Feller) won 3-1 against Slovenia, France won 3-1 against Norway and Sweden won 3-1 against Switzerland.

In the semi-finals, France (with Tessa Worley, Julien Lizeroux, Romane Miradole and Clement Noel) prevailed against Austria 3-1. Sweden also made it to the final with Anna Swenn Larsson, Mattias Hargin, Frida Hansdotter and Andre Myhrer with a 3-1 win against Germany, the conquerors of Italy.

In the end, the Swedes celebrated with a strong Andre Mhyrer. They clearly won the final against France 3-1. In the small final, Germany beat Austria with the better time after a 2-2 draw.

On Saturday and Sunday the men and women will fight for the last World Cup points of the season in the respective slaloms and giant slaloms.
