Baby alert for Swiss Olympic ski champion

Denise Feierabend's story is a special one. In February 2018, the then 28-year-old celebrated the greatest success of her career when she was crowned Olympic ski champion in the team event in Pyeongchang. Just a few weeks later, the 156-time World Cup starter announced the end of her career - only to embark on a new adventure just a short time later.

Feierabend started training as a primary school teacher and wants to gain a foothold in this new profession. She is already diligently gaining practical experience. “It tingles like before a ski race,” said the now 33-year-old in an interview with View , asked about her emotional state when she teaches a class.

Denise Feierabend is extremely happy with her post-career career. Now the Swiss woman is also flying high in her private life. She recently announced on social media that she is becoming a mother for the first time. “Soon to be three,” Feierabend wrote about a photo that shows her with her husband Andy on a hike in the picturesque Engelberg – and in which she beams into the camera with her baby bump. Google helped create the love story The story of how Denise and her Andy found each other is “a bit funny,” as Feierabend said some time ago in an interview with Southeastern Switzerland explained. “I competed in the Swiss championships in Davos. That's when Andy saw me. I think I did something to him because he searched for me on Google and then messaged me on Facebook. That’s how our story began,” smiles the likeable former skier, who has achieved a total of 14 top 10 places in the World Cup.
