Beat Feuz wins Super-G in Val Gardena - South Tyrolean weak

Feuz mastered the Super-G, which was shortened due to strong gusts of wind, best and caught the fastest line. The 24-year-old Swiss also mastered the exit from the Ciaslat, the key point of this otherwise technically not particularly demanding Super-G, best and set the best time in 1.21,51:0,30 minutes. Particularly in the lower part, he got ahead of the competition, especially the previous leader Bode Miller (USA/+0,44 seconds). Kjetil Jansrud from Norway completed the podium, XNUMX seconds behind.

As has often been the case in previous years, the South Tyroleans couldn't cope with the Saslong at all and - due to the relatively high starting numbers - had a pitch-black day. Peter Fill, the best of the local athletes, was 22nd, 1,43 seconds behind the winner. There were also World Cup points for Christof Innerhofer (24th/+1,47), while Werner Heel was able to keep up well in the upper part of the route, but lost a lot of time in the lower part of the route and achieved a 40th place, which was unthinkable for his standards. And that of the racer who also won the Super-G on the Saslong once, namely three years ago.

From a South Tyrolean perspective, only Patrick Staudacher (51st/+2,42), Siegmar Klotz (55th/+2,51) and Hagen Patscheider (57th/+2,62) did even worse.

The “Azzurri” can take revenge for this weak result on Saturday when a World Cup downhill event is held on the famous Saslong for the 50th time. The start will be like on Friday at 12.15 p.m.
