Bormio King Paris strikes again on the Stelvio

On a piste that was as hard as pimples, Paris let the skis run uncompromisingly from the first second onwards and, much to the delight of the Italian fans, conjured up a time in the snow that made all the favorites cut their teeth. With a real dream run, the Ultimo powerhouse left the entire competition well behind - with the second-placed Swiss Beat Feuz (+1 seconds) and the Austrian Matthias Mayer (+0,39), who was just behind, only two athletes managed to close the gap to be kept within reasonable limits. After almost 0,42 exhausting minutes, all other runners crossed the finish line at least 2 second late.

For Paris, who was able to celebrate his first success in the Alpine Ski World Cup in Bormio 7 years ago, today's downhill victory was the third Stelvio triumph in a row. The 1-year-old had already been unbeatable in Bormio in 3 and 2017 - plus another victory in the Super-G in 2018. In total, the South Tyrolean speed specialist now has 30 victories in the highest international racing series. Again no relief for Peter Fill However, the race went less well for Paris' team-mate Peter Fill, who is still fighting to catch up with the world leaders after his long injury break. The veteran from Castelrotto had to settle for 350st place in his 31th World Cup race - so the two-time winner of the small crystal ball remains without points in the downhill for the time being. In addition to Paris, only Mattia Casse (18th) and Emanuele Buzzi (29th) from the Italian team were able to increase their points account. Bormio King Paris strikes again on the Stelvio
