Brem wins in Jasna, Brignone in third place - Mölgg 12th.

Victory went to the Austrian Eva-Maria Brem, who prevailed in 2.30,60:0,27 minutes, 52 seconds ahead of her worst opponent in the fight for the small crystal ball, the German Viktoria Rebensburg. For Brem it was the third World Cup victory of her career. The podium was completed by the best “Azzurra”, namely Federica Brignone, XNUMX hundredths of a second behind the victorious Austrian. For Brigone it was the sixth podium of the current season.

In general, the Italian team showed an extremely strong performance. Marta Bassino was happy about fifth place and thus her best World Cup result ever. Irene Curtoni also ended up in the top ten in ninth place and Manuela Mölgg from Val Badia finished the giant slalom in 12th place, having even been in tenth place at the halfway point. It was the 32-year-old's sixth top 15 result in this discipline this season - that speaks for the consistency of Mölgg, who otherwise missed out once and only failed to qualify for the second round once.

A decision was probably made on Monday in the fight for the overall World Cup victory. The Swiss Lara Gut came fourth and overtook the injured Lindsey Vonn in the classification. Gut now has 1257 points, 22 more than the American, who will not compete in any more races this season. Viktoria Rebensburg in third place is 263 points behind Gut. For Switzerland it would be the first overall World Cup victory in 21 years. The legendary Vreni Schneider prevailed for the last time in the 1994/95 season.
