Casse wins European Cup downhill in La Thuile - Klotz 13.

The Piedmontese Mattia Casse secured success at the European Cup final in La Thouile. He relegated the Swiss Christian Spescha and the Austrian Florian Scheiber to second and third place. This is Casse's first European Cup success.

The South Tyroleans, however, performed disappointingly. Siegmar Klotz was the best of the local athletes with 13th place. Werner Heel and Andy Plank collected European Cup points in 22nd and 30th place respectively.
