City Event: Surprise win by Strasser - Mölgg out early

The last race before the World Championships in St. Moritz did not bring Manfred Mölgg any feelings of happiness. He had to admit defeat to Giuliano Razzoli in the first knockout round. The man from Enneberg got off to a bad start in his first run and continued to make a few mistakes afterwards. He went into the second round half a second behind, in which he was only able to cosmeticize his results and was ultimately eliminated, 36 hundredths of a second behind.

Razzoli, like his two teammates Stefano Gross and Chiara Costazza, had to raise the white flag in the quarterfinals.

In the women's race, Mikaela Shiffrin took the win, while in the men's race, the German Linus Strasser surprised: He had the upper hand in the grand final against Alexis Pinturault by four hundredths of a second. It was the German's first World Cup victory.
