“At some point it’s easy enough.” said the Swiss in Bormio. “The body said it was over,” Feuz explained, explaining that the physical conditions were no longer there. “It takes so much time to get your body in shape. I would have to invest a lot of time and I’m simply not willing to do that.”

Feuz said he did have a plan for the future, but nothing concrete. “There will definitely be things that are exciting. I'm currently still a racing driver. “I’m also privileged enough to be able to take a three-month vacation.”

The Swiss has celebrated a total of 16 World Cup victories in his career, 13 in the downhill and three in the Super-G. Feuz won the small crystal ball in the downhill a total of four times. At the home World Championships in St. Moritz in 2017, he was crowned world champion in the fastest discipline. He also won Olympic gold at the Winter Games in Beijing earlier this year.
