It's been a difficult few months for Anna Swenn-Larsson. The 2019 vice-slalom world champion did not compete in a single race last season, which was due to several setbacks: Immediately before the start of the World Cup, she tested positive for Corona, which is why she was locked up at home for almost two weeks. She then broke her ankle in training in December, ending her season before it even began. During this difficult phase, the 30-year-old had a special supporter, namely her boyfriend Mattias Rönngren, who is also a skier and has competed in 38 World Cup races. He always stood by Swenn-Larsson, which is why she now had very nice words. “He's absolutely fantastic, really, he's supported me. He’s always there for me, I think that’s great,” the 30-year-old explains Expressen . The Swede likes the fact that they both do the same job. “I think it’s very positive. We both know what we want and what we need. I'm very lucky to have him, he means a lot to me in my career and in my life." She often gets angry during training together Rönngren also (unfortunately) knows a lot about injuries. In January 2020 he suffered a knee injury in a training fall, and in the summer of the same year it hit his shoulder, which is why preparation for the season was very difficult. There was still a happy ending for him: he won the silver medal in the parallel team event at the World Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Swenn-Larsson and Rönngren also enjoy training together. “We do all of the summer training together. I like training with him, it feels good to have someone to go to the gym with,” says Swenn-Larsson, who can get pretty angry at times. “When I feel while running that he is a little behind and not tired, while I am completely exhausted, then I get angry,” the Swede once said in an interview.
