That's what Peter Fill & Co. say after the first Val Gardena race

They all fell short of expectations. While Peter Fill achieved a respectable result in eighth place, Dominik Paris and Christof Innerhofer disappointed with places 21 and 24. The mood in the Azzurri camp was correspondingly subdued after the race. We have summarized their statements here.

Peter Fill: “I took full risks right from the start. I'm not at all happy with the starting phase, but after that I got the most out of this snow. I'm satisfied, but I still have to give more. I love Val Gardena and the atmosphere here at home, but the route doesn't necessarily suit me. However, it's always good for a surprise, so why shouldn't I be right at the front in the downhill tomorrow and get on the podium here for the first time? In any case, I will throw everything into the balance again.”

Dominic Paris: “The fog surprised me a bit today. However, that shouldn't be an excuse. I probably wanted too much and then just rode too badly and couldn't build up any speed. My persistent back pain did the rest. These are all small details, but they mean that I can’t drive off with complete freedom.”

Christof Innerhofer: " I really didn't expect such a big gap. Although I had a small mistake in the upper part of the route, others also had that in their journey. I just wasn't good enough in these conditions today. But I don't worry too much about it. A podium finish is not my goal yet, I just want to deliver really strong performances on the slopes again.”
