Young ski ace ends his career.

Sentimental farewell to the German ski team

There were a few resignations in the German ski team after the World Cup season. Now a 24-year-old talent has also quit – with touching words.

Numerous stars of the scene said goodbye to the big ski stage after the end of the season. In addition, a number of ski aces have also resigned, who may not have the big names, but whose farewell was emotional. A good example of this is the German Carina Stuffer, who has competed in three World Cup races in her career and has mainly competed in the European Cup. She announced the end of her career at the tender age of 24.

“Skiing is my/our passion, but it is often as beautiful as it is difficult. Maybe things would have turned out differently, would have, ifs and buts. In the end, I'm happy with how far I've made it. Even though it wasn't always easy, I achieved my childhood dream with three World Cup starts and I'm proud of that," said the speed specialist.

Several injuries marked her career

Then it gets emotional. “Thank you to everyone who supported me in some way and maybe believed in the 'wild crash pilot' a little bit. Unfortunately, maybe that ultimately threw a spanner in the works for me. But who knows, it is what it is,” said Stuffer, who has suffered several injuries in her career. “Nevertheless, I don’t want to miss a day. All the results and acquaintances will always enrich my life and I am more than happy to have made the journey this far.”
