The year 2013 had just begun when Karoline Pichler reached the European Cup podium for the first time in the downhill in St. Anton. The following season, the South Tyrolean came second behind a certain Marta Bassino in the giant slalom at the Junior World Championships in Jasna (Slovakia), before her first victories in the European Cup followed in 2014. But then the aspiring ski talent felt the pitfalls of skiing.
