The French series of successes continues - the South Tyroleans are catching up

Pinturault also won the giant slalom in his home country for the first time. The Frenchman from Courchevel won the slalom in Val-d'Isère four years ago. With his 17th victory in the World Cup, Pinturault continued the successful streak for the French, who have won all of the last four giant slaloms.

Hirscher came second again in the third giant slalom of the winter. This time the Austrian had to admit defeat by 33 hundredths. Third-placed Kristoffersen is on the podium for the first time this winter. The South Tyroleans were also among the winners in the second run. Although they missed out on the top ten, they all made up ground in the decision. Manfred Mölgg was the best Azzurro, finishing 18th after 13th place at half time. Riccardo Tonetti improved from 25 to 16, while Florian Eisath gained 13 positions and collected numerous World Cup points in 17th place. Simon Maurberger and Hannes Zingerle, however, were eliminated in the first run.
