The crazy Olympic idea of an ex-ski star

The Croatian technology specialist won 26 World Cup races in his career, he won the overall World Cup once, and he can also call himself Slalom World Champion. And: He won a silver medal at the Olympic Games a total of 4 times. Without a doubt: Ivica Kostelic is a great in his profession.

In 2017, the Croatian hung up his racing skis. But the competitive gene was not lost. Kostelic is an enthusiastic sailor and now wants to get involved in this discipline too. His goal: to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

There the 40-year-old wants to compete in the newly introduced discipline “Mixed Offshore Sailing” (this competition will be held in Marseille) and possibly collect his 5th medal at the games. “I have gained a lot of experience in offshore sailing over the past 3 years,” he explained in a Croatian podcast.
