Preparations in Sarntal are in full swing

In all likelihood, all those athletes who were unable to buy a ticket for the World Ski Championships in Courchevel and Méribel will be at the start in South Tyrol. The European Cup in Sarntal has a long tradition. In the 2004/05 season, the second highest racing series in alpine skiing set up its tents in Reinswald for the first time. At that time, the Austrians Christine Spornring (in the downhill) and Selina Heregger (in the super-G) won. After another edition with two women's downhill runs in the Olympic year of 2006, from 2007 to 2014 and after a year's break again in 2016, it was the men who raced down the Plankenhorn slope in the fast disciplines. In February 2017, the experienced Sarn organizing committee was able to host the European Cup finals in the fast disciplines for men and women. Afterwards - in keeping with tradition - the men's European Cup pitched its tents again in Reinswald, before the women took center stage in the 2020 editions and last year, as was the case at the very beginning of the Sarnen speed races. It will be no different this year on Monday 6th and Tuesday 7th February. Skiing is no longer on the Plankenhorn piste, but rather on the no less spectacular Schöneben piste. Our team is now very well coordinated, which is why everyone knows what needs to be implemented, when and, above all, how. The European Cup races in Reinswald are not only a benefit for the entire valley from a sporting perspective. With this event, we generate hundreds of overnight stays in a period that is not particularly strong for tourism, just before the carnival holidays. Preparations in Sarntal are in full swing

The Schöneben slope in the Reinswald ski area will be the venue for two women's European Cup races on Monday, February 6th and Tuesday, February 7th. There will also be two Super-Gs this year. Numerous top racers are expected at the Sarnen Classics, which are taking place for the 17th time.
