Dominik Paris: “It was clear to me before the Super-G”

However, the Super-G began with a moment of shock for Mayer. At the start he slipped with his stick on an aluminum rail and almost triggered the timing. Mayer was only able to hold on with difficulty. “It went out by millimeters that I didn’t trigger the timing. The start was very nerve-wracking. But that didn’t bother me later on.” Innerhofer doesn't make it to the finish line in the Super-G either Christof Innerhofer was unable to make up for his failure in the downhill and was also eliminated from the Super-G. Instead, he only had praise for Matthias Mayer: “Mayer has achieved incredible things in his career, especially in the big races. When it comes down to it, he’s always very calm and composed.”

Aleksander Aamodt Kilde didn't make it to the top of the podium, but he won his first precious metal at major events with the bronze medal. “When I reached the finish, I was very satisfied. Mayer was lightning quick, and so was Ryan (Cochran-Siegle). I'm already happy with my first medal, that was a big goal for me." The Norwegian went into the race as the absolute top favorite and has already won three Super-G competitions this World Cup season. “There was a lot of pressure on my shoulders, I was nervous all week.”
