Double lead: 2 Azzurri cause a sensation in Adelboden

Luca De Aliprandini from Nonsberg is leading the field. The 29-year-old from Tuenno (part of the municipality of Ville d'Anaunia) achieved a dream run with start number 13, thanks to which he conjured up the fastest time in the Swiss snow. For a long time, the Swiss Loic Meillard was in second place, 11 hundredths of a second behind, then another Italian caused the next sensation: Giovanni Borsotti raced into silver place with start number 2. He was 53 seconds behind.

Simon Maurberger missed qualifying for the second round (33rd place), as did Hannes Zingerle, who was eliminated.
