A Slovenian surprises in Kvitfjell – Fill has lost his red jersey for the time being

Balance was key in the Norwegian ski resort, as evidenced by the fact that the first 20 athletes were all within just one second. The smallest mistakes had a big impact. Bostjan Kline, whose best results so far in the World Cup have been two second places in the 2015/16 season, had come up with the best tactics for this race and then showed a perfect ride. With start number four, he already set a time that even highly promoted athletes subsequently lost their teeth on.

The most dangerous person for the 2011 Junior World Champion was the Austrian Matthias Mayer, who, in second place, ended up 0,19 seconds behind, which was quite a significant gap considering the balance of the race. Third came Kjetil Jansrud (+0,20), who achieved his third top result of the season (one win, one second place, now a third place). In the discipline ranking, the Norwegian has overtaken Peter Fill and is eight points ahead. The man from Castelrotto finished the race in 16th place and, like Dominik Paris (11th), was not satisfied. Werner Heel, on the other hand, showed a good performance: He raced up to 52th place with start number 25 and collected World Cup points for the first time this winter.

There will be another departure on Saturday at 12 p.m., and a Super-G is on the program on Sunday.
