First medal for South Tyrol at the Junior World Championships

Tobias Kastlunger showed a courageous drive in the first run and fought his way to third place despite a few mistakes in the middle section. In the decision in the afternoon, the Enneberger drove with his head and managed to carry the momentum from the steep slope over the flatter finish section on the Aloch piste and thus snagged the silver medal. As in the Super-G, gold went to the US Boy River Radamus. The bronze medal went to Sam Maes (Belgium), who benefited from the fall of Norwegian Lucas Braaten, who was 2nd after the first run. For 19-year-old Tobias Kastlunger it is the first medal at a Junior World Championships.

Samuel Moling (Kolfuschg), in 15th place at half time, made up several places in the final and was 10th in the final ranking. Alex Vinatzer (Wolkenstein) was in 7th place after the first run, and the man from Val Gardena is in the second round after an inside ski error missed a goal and was eliminated.

Two medal decisions are still pending: On Tuesday we continue with the men's slalom (9.30 a.m./13 p.m.), the flagship discipline of Alex Vinatzer from Val Gardena. The Junior World Championships end on Wednesday with the women's downhill (11 a.m.).

First medal for South Tyrol at the Junior World Championships

In the third-to-last race of the Junior World Championships in Val di Fassa, the local young skiers won their first medal. Tobias Kastlunger (Enneberg) won the silver medal in the giant slalom.
