First win of the season for Ivica Kostelic – Mölgg in the top ten

Kostelic has been on the podium twice this season, but it has never been enough to reach the top. He particularly benefited from the failure of Frenchman Alexis Pinturault, who was in the lead after the first round. Kostelic triumphed in 1:45,81 minutes.

The two Austrians Marcel Hirscher and Mario Matt completed the podium. Hirscher, who was in eighth place after a slip in the first run, ended up 19 hundredths behind. In addition to second place today, the 23-year-old ÖSV athlete was also pleased with the overall victory in the slalom classification.

After Stefano Gross' mistake in the second round and Giuliano Razzoli's retirement, Manfred Mölgg from Enneberg was once again the fastest “Azzurro” today. He gained one place in the second round and ended up ninth. Meanwhile, Patrick Thaler narrowly missed the top ten in eleventh place.

The race went well for Riccardo Tonetti from Bolzano, who qualified for the second round of a World Cup slalom today for the second time in his career. He improved from 28th to 19th place, achieving his best World Cup result ever.

A total of five “Azzurri” qualified for the slalom final in Lenzerheide: the two South Tyroleans Manfred Mölgg and Patrick Thaler, as well as Cristian Devill, Stefano Gross and Giuliano Razzoli.

First win of the season for Ivica Kostelic – Mölgg in the top ten

The 33-year-old Croatian won the penultimate World Cup slalom of the current season on Sunday. Manfred Mölgg achieved the best Italian result with ninth place.
