Fanchini double: Italian champion also in the Super-G

Nadia Fanchini won the Super-G at the Italian Championships at the San Pellegrino Pass after winning downhill gold. Fanchini had achieved this double three times before (2004, 2006, 2008), but the last one was eleven years ago.

The silver medal was won by Sofia Goggia, who now has to wait for her first Italian championship title. The 26-year-old was 0,71 seconds behind at the finish. Italian giant slalom champion Marta Bassino took bronze. She was already 1,41 seconds behind Fanchini. Nicol Delago went after that Silver medal in her flagship discipline , came up empty in the Super-G and had to settle for fourth place. Nadia Delago crossed the finish line 0,12 hundredths of a second later than her big sister and came in fifth. Anna Hofer finished the race in eighth place.

The Super-G in the morning was counted as the first part of the combination. The combination slalom will take place in the afternoon.

On Wednesday the women's Super-G was on the program at the Italian Championships at the San Pellegrino Pass. The victory – like in the downhill – went to Nadia Fanchini.
