Anna Fenninger struck again in Vail/Beaver Creek. After her triumph in the Super-G and silver in the downhill, the Salzburg woman won her third medal - the second gold - at the World Championships. The 25-year-old Austrian had already laid the foundation for her success in the first round, in which she gained a lead of 0,81 seconds over the competition.

She went further in the decision and ultimately prevailed with a total time of 2:19,16 minutes and a lead of 1,40 seconds over the German Viktoria Rebensburg, who came from eleventh with a strong drive in the second round advanced to second place. Third place went to the Swede Jessia Lindell-Vikarby, who was able to successfully defend her position from the first round.

“Azzurre” knocked off again For the “Azzurre”, however, after the disappointments in the speed disciplines and in the team event, there was nothing to be gained this time either. Nadia Fanchini was the best Italian in 16th place. The only South Tyrolean at the start, Manuela Mölgg, lost four places in the second round and finished her first appearance at the World Championships in the state of Colorado in 20th place. In the end, she was 3,79 seconds behind winner Fenninger.

Tomorrow the men's giant slalom is on the program in Vail/Beaver Creek. Florian Eisath from Eggental will make his World Cup debut.
