Gardenissima: Austrians are leaving South Tyrol's ski stars behind

700 participants started at the Seceda mountain station on Saturday to complete the six-kilometer-long giant slalom to the Col Raiser valley station. 115 gates stood in the way of the professional and amateur skiers, the height difference was 1033 meters. So it was an extraordinary race that took place in Val Gardena on Saturday. At the end of the day, two Austrian ski professionals triumphed and were also able to look forward to a winner's check of 5000 euros each.

In the men's race, speed specialist Daniel Hemetsberger was unbeatable. The Upper Austrian, who has three podium finishes in the World Cup, completed the route in 3.38,98:3.40,44 minutes. He ended up just ahead of the German Simon Jocher (3.40,74). Behind them are all sorts of South Tyroleans: Christof Innerhofer made it onto the podium with a time of 3.43,27:3.43,37 minutes, Alex Vinatzer (3.47,01:3.50,51), Dominik Paris (4:5), Mattia Cason (6:7) and Florian Schieder (XNUMX:XNUMX). ) take places XNUMX, XNUMX, XNUMX and XNUMX.
