Great: Paris grabs the Super-G ball

“A crystal ball, that is a big goal in my career” – Dominik Paris has repeated this sentence again and again in recent years. On March 14, 2019, the likeable Ultner made this big dream come true. In Soldeu, the 29-year-old won his 7th race of the season (that's a new South Tyrolean record!) and thus won the small ball in the Super-G.

Lead confidently defended Before the race, Paris was already at the top of the discipline rankings with a lead of 44 points. Given his current form, it would have been a bit of a surprise that he would give up first place.

In the end, Paris left nothing to be desired: With an enormous amount of self-confidence, the man from Ultimo conjured up a very confident, if not completely flawless, ride in the snow and ended up in first place. As the competitors gradually began to bite their teeth at his time, it was around 1 Watch: Dominik Paris has won the crystal ball.

Paris has truly earned this success: no South Tyrolean has ever achieved 7 World Cup victories (4 in the downhill, 3 in the Super-G) in one season before him. He was also crowned Super-G world champion in Åre. And: Paris won the double at three World Cup stops (Bormio, Kvitfjell and Soldeu), i.e. winning downhill and super-G on two days in a row. Hats off! 4 South Tyrolean balls in a row Paris is the second South Tyrolean to win a Super-G ball. Only Peter Runggaldier managed this feat in 1995. Also interesting: For the 4th time in a row, South Tyrol can look forward to a crystal ball. In the last 3 years, Peter Fill has always won a ball (2016 and 2017 downhill, 2018 combined), so now it is Paris that has crowned his dream season.
