Gross leads in the slalom from Meribel – Thaler 20.

The “Azzurro” Stefano Gross set the best time. The 28-year-old slalom specialist from Trentino mastered the forest of poles in Meribel in 46,78 seconds, making him one hundredth faster than the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen. Austrian Marcel Hirscher takes third place at halftime (+0,08 seconds). Giuliano Razzoli achieved the fifth best time (+0,50).

However, the first round did not go as desired for Patrick Thaler from Sarner. He finished 2,74 seconds slower than his compatriot Stefano Gross and didn't get past 20th place in the first run.

Hirscher overall World Cup winner Since the Norwegian Kjetil Jansrud did not start in the slalom in Meribel, the Austrian Marcel Hirscher was able to celebrate his fourth overall World Cup victory in a row before the race. With one competition to go, the Austrian was 60 points ahead of Jansrud. He should have at least come second in the slalom, while the Austrian should not have finished higher than 14th place. Hirscher is the first driver ever to secure the overall World Cup for the fourth time in a row.

However, the duel for the small crystal ball in the Slalom World Cup remains exciting. Felix Neureuther is ahead of Marcel Hirscher with 55 points. However, after a mistake, the German didn't get past 14th place in the first run.
