Lindsey Vonn is much more than just the most famous and winning skier in the world. She is a glamor girl, a star on social networks (over 4 million fans follow her), a photo model and has even gained her first experiences as a TV presenter and commentator. Everything would be perfect, you would think - if it weren't for the constant bad luck with the men. The dashing American has had numerous relationships, but they all fell apart sooner or later.

The most recent example: her liaison with ice hockey star PK Subban, from whom Vonn separated shortly before the turn of the year. After a number of setbacks, the 36-year-old from Minnesota seemed to have actually found her Mr. Right this time. For 3 years, the former ski racer and the ice hockey star Subban were the sports dream couple in the USA. For him, Vonn left her beloved home in Vail and moved to California. She even got engaged to him, although after her first failed marriage she said she never wanted to get married again. But the wedding didn't happen because the two announced their breakup shortly before the turn of the year.

Lindsey Vonn's love life is once again in turmoil. This was no different in the past. When the American's meteoric rise began in her youth, her last name was Kildow and she met Thomas Vonn, who was 9 years older than her. He was also a ski racer, but not nearly as successful as Lindsey. The two fell in love and finally married in 2007, when the shooting star was 22 years old. Broken ski boots as a farewell gift As a result, Lindsey and Thomas Vonn not only made a couple, but also a team: she was the aspiring ski star, he was her coach and manager. But things didn't go well for long: just four years later, the two divorced right before the start of the season. According to media reports, Thomas Vonn was so angry at the time that he destroyed Lindsey's ski boots as a "relegation gift". But the ski queen kept her last name because it had now become a brand.

Vonn then racked up success after success on the ski slopes and she soon seemed to have gotten over her broken marriage: In March 2013, the American made her relationship with golf star Tiger Woods known. Woods surprised her by visiting ski races, but she was there when he declined. But 2 years later everything was over. Vonn: “Sometimes I wish he would have listened to me a little more, but he is very stubborn and likes to go his own way.”

After that, various men came into Vonn's life. She was said to have a liaison with Lewis Hamilton because she attended his races several times and the two also went skiing together. However, both emphasized that they were just friends. In 2015, there were rumors of a relationship with Charlie Ebersol, Britney Spears' ex, before Vonn dated football coach Kenan Smith from November 2016 to November 2017. Many relationships, many rumors, but Vonn has not yet found the man for life. Sexy, successful and ambitious – and yet unlucky in love So the question remains: Why does such a personality - who is often referred to as a man's crush - find it so difficult to find the “right one”? “That’s difficult to answer,” explains Bruneck couples therapist Karin Schiner. “There are always many factors that come together. First and foremost, I would say stress is a deciding factor. A relationship is always work - not in a negative sense - but you have to make time for each other and listen to each other. The life of a celebrity like Vonn can often be very intense, and the stress and pressure levels are correspondingly high. But a relationship requires the opposite, namely a lot of freedom. Even long-distance relationships that have to be maintained often can be stressful in the long run.”

Is it sometimes difficult for men to cope with such a personality - i.e. sexy, successful, above-average ambitious? “I would be careful, it’s a bit cliché. But sure, a strong woman can also scare a man. Not everyone can cope with that. If a woman unconditionally pursues a goal - like in sport - and wants to achieve it at all costs, and is therefore sometimes stubborn, then this can make it difficult to deal with it. But the same is true for men.”

Incidentally, Lindsey Vonn said in an interview in 2016 that she had lost faith in true love. We can only hope that things will work out for the glamor girl at some point.
