Hirscher wins Aspen-RTL – Eisath races to 5th place with the best running time

At the end of the season, the best giant slalomists in the world once again showed their best side: the crème de la crème of international skiing defied the most adverse piste conditions and - even if the small crystal ball was already awarded before the race - created a great spectacle. In the middle of it all was not only the day's winner Marcel Hirscher, but also Florian Eisath.

Eisath really flexed his muscles in the second run and, in 23rd place after the first run, set a best time in the snow that many top drivers had to work hard on. The man from Eggen made up place after place and, thanks to his dream run, improved by 18 positions to fifth place. Eisath thus perfected his second-best result in the World Cup and climbed to ninth place in the overall giant slalom ranking.

At the front, however, Marcel Hirscher was once again able to celebrate. The currently most complete skier in the world once again showed his unique class and raced to his 45th World Cup victory with an inimitable ride in the decision. The Austrian, who was in second place at the halfway point of the race, won with a lead of over half a second over Felix Neureuther (Germany). The Frenchman Mathieu Faivre (+1.19) completed the podium.

Mölgg scores some World Cup points – Paris comes away empty-handed in 16th place In addition to Florian Eisath, another South Tyrolean, Manfred Mölgg, ended up in the points in the Aspen giant slalom. The Enneberger came twelfth. Speed specialist Dominik Paris finished four positions behind Mölgg in 16th place. However, because points are only available for the top 15 in the World Cup final, the Ultner came away empty-handed.

On Sunday the men's ski winter will conclude with the last slalom of the season.

Hirscher wins Aspen-RTL – Eisath races to 5th place with the best running time

Marcel Hirscher confidently won the last men's giant slalom of the winter. The overall World Cup winner prevailed in Aspen ahead of Felix Neureuther and Mathieu Faivre. Florian Eisath from Eggen moved up from 23rd to fifth place with a brilliant second run.
