Hirscher wins again ahead of Matt - Thaler, the best South Tyrolean

Marcel Hirscher remains the undisputed number one in the Alpine Ski World Cup. In the slalom in the Bernese Oberland on Sunday he celebrated his 52nd career victory, the seventh of the season and the fourth slalom triumph en suite. Less than 24 hours after his giant slalom success, he put his long-term rivals Michael Matt and Henrik Kristoffersen in their place with a lead of 13 and 16 hundredths, respectively.

Mölgg falls back

Stefano Gross from the Fassa Valley was the only Italian to make it into the top field. He took sixth place. However, the Adelboden competition was disappointing for Manfred Mölgg, who was in ninth place after the first run, but then failed in the second run and ultimately had to settle for 25th place.

Mölgg was behind Patrick Thaler in the rankings. The man from Sarn earned his first World Cup points this season in 21st place. This fact and the ninth-best time in the second round are probably Thalers announced end of career postpone for at least a week. He will also be in the top 30 of the slalom rankings in the next race in Wengen.

The third South Tyrolean in the group, Fabian Bacher from Wipptal, was unable to qualify for the second round in 35th place. The same fate befell the 2010 Olympic slalom champion Giuliano Razzoli and all other Azzurri.
