Innerhofer on the podium in the shortened Super-G

When a speed race is so short, every mistake is one too many. This is how the Austrian Vincent Kriechmayr did it best. He already had that Departure on Wednesday won and proved that he is in brilliant late form.

Innerhofer came second, four hundredths behind Christof Innerhofer was just a blink of an eye slower than the Linzer. Gaiser, who never finished better than fourth this year, had a good run and in the end was only four hundredths of a second slower than Kriechmayr. Aksel Lund Svindal (Norway) and the German Kitzbühel winner Thomas Dreßen came third, both of whom lost eight hundredths to the winner.

Things didn't go as well for Dominik Paris, the second South Tyrolean at the Super-G in Are. The man from Ultimo was six tenths of a second behind at the finish - too much time wasted to collect a few more World Cup points. That was what Marcel Hirscher received. The overall World Cup winner finished tenth.

Kjetil Jansrud secured the small World Cup ball in Super-G. It is his third Crystal Globe in Super-G and fourth overall. In 2015, the Norwegian also secured the small crystal ball in the downhill.

Because the wind was too strong in the starting area, the Super-G start had to be moved downwards. The result was a World Cup race with less than 50 seconds of driving time.
