Innerhofer came third at the Super-G in Kitzbühel

The best time of the day was set by Aksel Lund Svindal, who achieved his 1th World Cup victory in 14,48:20 minutes. So far this season, the Norwegian has won three of four Super-G competitions. Second place went to the Austrian Matthias Mayer, who was 0,13 seconds slower than Svindal.

Innerhofer, who even took the lead after his run, was ultimately 40 hundredths behind and took third place. The Gaiser achieved its best result ever in Kitzbühel. On the Streif he was never better than sixth.

Three South Tyroleans in the top 20

Two other South Tyroleans, Peter Fill from Castelrotto and Siegmar Klotz from Lana, were in the top ten. Fill, who started the race with start number two, ended up in seventh place at the same time as the two Frenchmen Johan Clarey and Adrien Theaux, while Klotz with start number 43 was even five hundredths ahead of Svindal at the first split. At the finish, however, the World Cup athlete from Lana finished tenth, 1,04 seconds behind. Werner Heel from Walten finished the race in 17th place, while Dominik Paris from Ulten and the Italian Matteo Marsaglia were eliminated.

Tomorrow the downhill is on the program in Kitzbühel, although Innerhofer will only start the race with start number 46 due to the penalty he received in training.

Innerhofer came third at the Super-G in Kitzbühel

After the victory in Wengen last weekend, Christof Innerhofer has struck again: The 28-year-old Gaiser took third place in the Super-G competition in Kitzbühel on Friday and was able to celebrate his tenth podium in the World Cup.
