Innerhofer made progress in the first Lake Louise training session

There was a serious fall in the first official training session of the downhill season. The Canadian Manuel Osborne-Paradis had to be transported away by helicopter. At this point, Christof Innerhofer was in the lead. The Gaiser went into Lake Louise training with start number 4 and had a strong run. Nobody was faster than “Inner”, the Austrians Matthias Mayer came closest (he was eight hundredths of a second behind at the finish) and Otmar Striedinger (44 hundredths behind Innerhofer). In Lake Louise of all places, a route that has never been good for the 33-year-old.

Fill & Co. knocked off The remaining South Tyroleans, Dominik Paris, Peter Fill and Werner Heel, did not make it into the top 20. Paris, who was the first runner after the fallen Osborne-Paradis, was 1,62 seconds behind Innerhofer at the finish . That was enough for 26th place. Fill lost almost three seconds, as did Heel. The Passeirer finished one place behind Fill in 63rd place.

Things didn't go much better for Emanuele Buzzi either. The 24-year-old from Sappada/Plodn, who was born in San Candido, also lost a lot and ended up 2,28 seconds behind Innerhofer, who was best in training (46th place). Mattia Casse ended up in 47th place in the first training session. Things went best for Matteo Marsaglia, who finished 66rd with the high start number 23.

There are two more training runs on the program in Lake Louise on Thursday and Friday.
