Isolde Kostner takes part in famous reality show

Two World Cup gold medals in Super-G, one silver, a total of three precious metals at the Olympic Games and two downhill balls: Isolde Kostner has left her mark on South Tyrolean sports history with her great career. The Val Gardena resident, who runs a hotel with her family in Selva, has been in the ski guesthouse since 2006 - but that doesn't mean that her life is boring. On Easter Monday, 46-year-old Kostner made her first appearance on the TV show “L'Isola dei Famosi”, in German “The Island of the Famous”. In this show, numerous VIPs from different areas come together on a deserted island and have to “survive” without any comfort. Building a shelter, getting food yourself – all of this is part of the tasks of the “Naufragi”, the stranded people. In addition, the participants have to take exams because applicants are repeatedly eliminated. This format, which is broadcast on Canale 5, is comparable to the German jungle camp - only a little less disgusting. Test your own limits A South Tyrolean has also been part of the Isola dei Famosi since Monday. Isolde Kostner arrived by helicopter and will have to prove herself in Honduras, where the show is taking place this year. In her introduction video she said: “A champion will always be a champion, not just physically, but especially mentally. I like testing my limits and overcoming them. I can't just sit at home and do nothing. I don’t like the slackers.” The former skier is not the only athlete on the deserted island. Former soccer star Paul Gascoigne is also fighting for “survival” in Honduras. Incidentally, this is not Kostner's first appearance on a TV show: she took part in the show “Notti sul ghiaccio” back in 2007.
