Junior World Championships: Vinatzer wants to cause a sensation again

The Junior World Championships begin next Saturday, March 7th in Narvik, Norway. There are a total of 11 medal decisions for women and men, with South Tyrol particularly having one hot iron in the fire: Alex Vinatzer. The man from Val Gardena is starting as the defending champion in the slalom. He also won the silver medal in this discipline in Davos two years ago. Vinatzer took his first World Cup podium in Zagreb this year when he finished third. In the World Cup slaloms in which he finished this year, he was never worse than 3th. However, he was eliminated 14 times in 9 slaloms and was disqualified once. Nevertheless, Vinatzer is already considered one of the big favorites for the junior slalom title. But you also have to keep an eye on another South Tyrolean: Tobias Kastlunger sensationally won silver in the giant slalom at the World Championships in the Fassa Valley last year.
