Karoline Pichler is skiing again

In September 2017, the Petersberg native tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee, which was the 23-year-old's fourth serious injury in just over two years: In January 2015, the giant slalom specialist suffered a torn meniscus in her right knee A cruciate ligament tear in his left knee followed in February 2016 and another cruciate ligament tear in his left knee in October. Despite this series of injuries, Pichler can already look back on 16 starts in the World Cup; her best result is 23rd place in the giant slalom in Kühtai in 2014.

Studies completed

Despite her injuries, Karoline Pichler was not idle: in addition to countless hours in rehabilitation, the Petersberg resident completed her bachelor's degree (tourism, sports and event management) at the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano in autumn 2017.

Hard way back

A few weeks after her last operation in October 2017, Karo Pichler started fitness training again, the first light ski tours (only uphill) followed in January and now she is back on the ski slopes. “The first step has been taken, but the road to the first race is still long,” said Karoline Pichler in her Facebook entry.
