Zingerle shows that the other South Tyroleans are struggling – the world champion is leading

Riccardo Tonetti showed a mixed performance, 3,77 seconds behind, and had to worry about a place in the top 30. Manfred Mölgg will not be there in the second round. In his giant slalom comeback, he finished a full 4,50 seconds after Faivre. The two youngsters Alex Hofer and Hannes Zingerle started with starting numbers 37 and 41. Hofer showed a courageous drive and narrowly missed the top 30. Zingerle, on the other hand, made it into the top 30 with a strong performance. He was the best South Tyrolean in Bansko, 3,58 seconds behind. Riccardo Tonetti will open the second round in 30th place, Hannes Zingerle was 26th, which is why he will rush down the track in fourth place from 13 p.m. Alex Hofer ended up 33rd, Manfred Mölgg finished 36th. Meanwhile, Mathieu Favre seems to be inspired by his gold medal in the giant slalom in Cortina. In Bansko, with start number 2, he had the best start time on the slopes with challenging terrain (temperatures in Bansko have been around 20 degrees Celsius in the past few days). Even after the first ten racers, you could tell from the driving times that it was becoming increasingly difficult to finish at the front.
