Kjetil Jansrud between skiing frustration and confessions of love

In the summer of 2020, Kjetil Jansrud joyfully announced the good news: he had become a father for the first time. While things went according to plan for the ski star in his private life, he had bad luck sticking to his skis on the slopes in the months that followed. The downhill world champion and Olympic champion only made it onto the podium in the Super-G in Val Gardena this year, when he came third. Otherwise he has a fourth place (also in Val Gardena, but in the downhill) and two sixth places. In the other races, Jansrud always ended up outside the top positions. In terms of results, it was the Val Gardena specialist's weakest World Cup winter (a total of eleven podium places on the Saslong) since the 2009/10 season. Age leaves its mark So are the ravages of time also eating away at Jansrud, who is celebrating his 36th birthday this year? “When I look back at the last few months, the season didn’t bring what I expected. It's humbling to grow older and see the young (like I once was) making their breakthrough. “But I’m very proud of the #attackingvikings (the Norwegian team, editor’s note), but I’m sure that I’m not finished in the World Cup yet,” Jansrud wrote on social media. The Norwegian follows this declaration of war with a nice saying: “The Olympic season is coming up, the goal will be to fight for crystal balls and medals. And I'm sure that the old body still knows how to dance." The Scandinavian's season ended in Ultental, where he trained extensively over the last eleven days. Jansrud's homage to the family Jansrud sends a very special thank you to his family. “I have to specifically mention my girlfriend. “I couldn’t do my job without their great work and flexibility,” is the 35-year-old’s homage to Benedicte Isabel, the mother of his daughter Frøya. “You are the best mother Frøya could ever ask for and we both love you more than anything in this world. You are the glue in our daily lives that is different from all others. “I can’t wait to leave the 150 days of travel behind me and spend time with my family this summer.” And to recharge my batteries so that Jansrud can attack again next winter.
