Kristoffersen: “It’s a shame what’s going on”

The 24-year-old has been in conflict with the Norwegian Ski Association for a long time. The reason: Kristoffersen wants to wear the Red Bull logo on his helmet, but the association plans to have a common head sponsor for all Norwegian athletes. “I think things are unfair in the association. When it comes to sponsors, I want the same opportunities as athletes in all other countries,” said Kristoffersen in an interview with the “Tiroler Tageszeitung”.

“It’s not about the money at all” The Norwegian is even going to court in this dispute and is demanding 15 million crowns, or around 1,6 million euros, in compensation. However, Kristoffersen is not just concerned about money. “My lawyers determined this amount. It's not about the money at all. I told the association: 'You can have all the money from the Red Bull deal!' I just want the opportunities this sponsor gives me to get better. I signed a new deal last year and didn't want more money, I wanted a new service person. Now I have two to myself. Money doesn't help me get better. A service man can do that.”

Kristoffersen received a lot of criticism for this dispute. He can't understand that. "A lot of people come along and say, 'The association has always helped you so much.'
