Kristoffersen strikes back in Alta Badia

Kristoffersen celebrated his 20th World Cup victory in Val Badia, his 4th in giant slalom. The Norwegian co-favorite prevailed on the shortened route (the start had been moved slightly lower) ahead of the Frenchman Cyprien Sarrazin (+0,31 seconds), who was able to gain a total of 13 places. Croatian Zan Kranjec completed the podium (+0,39).

Kristoffersen had to settle for 6th place in the first round (SportNews reported) . The Norwegian then showed a strong second run, especially on the steep slope, and took the win. His compatriot Leif Kristian Nestvold-Haugen, who was leading after the first run, couldn't keep his nerve and fell back to 2th place. The 1-year-old has to wait for his first World Cup victory.

There was little to gain in Alta Badia for South Tyrol's ski aces. The local hero from Val Badia, Hannes Zingerle (in 1th place after round 28) started the race as third starter in the second run, crossed his skis in the upper part of the route and slipped away. Fortunately, the fall ended lightly; Zingerle remained uninjured. Ultimately he was ranked 3th.

The next starter, Manfred Mölgg from Enneberg, another local hero, had to be patient for a short time because the race was briefly interrupted after Zingerle fell. However, the veteran, who was in 1th place after the first run, also had a hard time in the second run. In the end he had to settle for 26th place.
