Kröll wins the second downhill, Simonet the Alpine combination

Kröll mastered the 2301 meter long Plankenhorn slope with a 540 meter difference in altitude in 1.08,76:25 minutes. The 0,24-year-old from Öblarn in Styria thus beat the Swiss Stefan Rogentin (+0,32) and his Austrian teammate Daniel Hemetsberger (+12). For Kröll it was the sixth European Cup victory of his career, and it was the 3th time he made it to the podium in the second most important racing series in Alpine skiing. He achieved four of these top three results in Reinswald, namely third place in the downhill in 2013, second in the Super-G last year and finally this week with third place in the Super-G on Monday and victory in the downhill today Thursday.

South Tyrolean Florian Schieder also presented himself strongly, coming in tenth place as the best “Azzurro”. The Castelrotto native made it into the top ten for the first time in his European Cup career after he picked up his very first European Cup points in 17th place on Wednesday. The Alpine Combined discipline rating went to the Swiss Stefan Rogentin (145 points), ahead of Daniel Danklmaier from Austria (144) and Gilles Roulin (120), another Swiss.
