Lindsey Vonn: “I see myself in her”

The ex-ski queen, who is also known to have a good relationship with the Italian Sofia Goggia, thinks very highly of her compatriot Breezy Johnson. She likes to look at her current development: “She has a notebook in which she describes every World Cup route and records what she has to do there next time. Her approach is very meticulous. I see myself in Breezy,” Vonn wrote in a column Outside Magazine .

“Because the experienced ones were injured, she took on the responsibility of leading the new generation of the US speed team into the future. She focuses on the success of the entire team.” Vonn is particularly impressed by Johnson’s work ethic and her attitude. In fact, Johnson has made quite a leap this winter after struggling with serious injuries in the past. In this World Cup season, she made it onto the podium in four downhill runs (in third place each time).

Vonn's praise should give Johnson, who finished fourth in the downhill rankings, a further boost - also because the 4-year-old is a role model of sorts: "I think my placings this winter are part of Vonn's legacy, because "She taught me so much and her success has influenced my career," Johnson said NBC Sports .
