Lisa Agerer is kicked out of the national team: “Now especially”

The sound makes the music. The 22-year-old from Nauders can certainly understand why Lisa Agerer was kicked out of the “Alpine” squad after two disastrous seasons. Nevertheless, Agerer was surprised to find out that she had been booted from the Internet. “I think it's a shame that no one contacted me to tell me about this personally. The decision itself is not up for discussion. After two seasons like this, I don’t deserve a place in the team,” explains Agerer self-critically.

Lisa Agerer, born in 1991, now has to adapt to this new situation. In the coming weeks, preparations for winter 2014/15 will need to be meticulously planned. In the near future, the woman from Vinschger will also find out which races she can take part in and where she has to collect points in order to possibly be able to compete in the World Cup again. Because at the moment everything is up in the air. “I will train with the Förster sports group and with my private trainer Karl-Heinz Habicher. On the other hand, I start dry training at the end of May and beginning of June, although I have actually been cycling and running in the last few weeks and will continue to do so in the near future. Maybe it’s better this way and I can do a few things differently in preparation,” said Agerer.

Although Lisa Agerer was kicked out of the squad, the 22-year-old exudes optimism and sounds motivated to the tips of her hair in a telephone interview with SportNews. “I am not at all happy with the last two years. Unfortunately, I couldn't show anyone what I was really capable of. That's why my motto now is 'especially now'. For me, this new situation is an additional incentive,” Agerer is convinced.

Raimund Plancker is the new head coach for the technicians

It wasn't just Lisa Agerer who was booted out. Florian Eisath (Eggen), Hagen Patscheider (Langtaufers) and Sarah Pardeller (Deutschnofen) are also no longer part of the Italian national team for the 2014/15 season. Denise Karbon (Castelrotto) has also been omitted because she ended her career in March. Just like Michael Eisath, who had a place in the B team at the beginning of last season.

New to the B team, however, are Verena Gasslitter, Nicole Delago and Fabian Bacher, who were able to recommend themselves through the FuturFISI team. Alex Zingerle is also in the B team, but the 21-year-old from Val Badia will join the World Cup team.

There have also been changes in the coaching staff, a significant one also affecting a South Tyrolean. Raimund Plancker, who was responsible for the women's team in recent years, is now the new head coach for the men's technical team.
