Marcel Hirscher wins in Kitzbühel – Thaler in sixth place

Hirscher, who was in third place after the first run behind the two “Azzurri” Stefano Gross and Giuliano Razzoli, prevailed with a confident run in the second run in 1:44,34 minutes. In his 100th World Cup race, he beat the German Felix Neureuther (+0,77 seconds) and the Croatian Ivica Kostelic (+0,93) to the places. Kostelic, however, took victory in the combination ahead of the two Frenchmen Alexis Pinturault and Thomas Mermillod Blondin.

Gross and Razzoli, who gave Italy a double lead in the first round, ended up empty-handed. Razzoli missed the podium by eight hundredths, while Gross had to settle for eleventh place after a mistake.

From a South Tyrolean perspective, however, Patrick Thaler from Sarner was convincing, finishing sixth in the race, 1,42 seconds behind. For him, it was his second best World Cup result this season after fifth place in Levi.

However, there was nothing to gain for Manfred Mölgg from Enneberg and Dominik Paris from Ultimo. They were eliminated in the first round.

Marcel Hirscher wins in Kitzbühel – Thaler in sixth place

The 23-year-old Austrian was able to celebrate his fourth slalom victory this season at the slalom in Kitzbühel on Sunday. Patrick Thaler from Sarner also drove a strong race.
