Marlene Cup winners honored in Terlan

The twelve medal winners of the 2018/19 Marlene Cup overall ranking were invited to a celebration in Terlan by VOG director Gerhard Dichgans and the head of the communications department, Sabine Oberhollenzer.

Numerous young athletes between the ages of 15 and 20 also took part in this year's winter. Over the course of the winter months, the young skiers demonstrated their skills in slalom, giant slalom and super-G on South Tyrol's most important ski slopes.

Ambach: “We want to introduce the young runners to the national team” The President of the South Tyrolean Winter Sports Association, Hermann Ambach, praised the collaboration with the VOG, but also underlined the sporting value of the racing series: “In the end, the goal must always be to introduce one or two young runners to the national team. We manage to do this every year.”

“We are the envy of this series at home and abroad,” said Markus Ortler from the regional association. Marlene Cup winners honored in Terlan

Since 2013, the Marlene Cup has been the South Tyrolean Winter Sports Association's most important racing series. This season a total of 12 races were held from the beginning of December to April. On Friday afternoon the winners were honored in the House of the Apple in Terlan.
