Medals at the Italian Championships for people with disabilities

20 athletes and 15 trainers and supervisors from Lebenshilfe from all over South Tyrol took part in these competitions. Exciting slalom, super-G and giant slalom races took place on the Priesnig ski slopes. The cross-country skiing competitions were held at the Nordic ski center Gabriella Paruzzi, with the shortest distance being 200 meters and the longest being 10 kilometers. The successes of South Tyrolean athletes with disabilities are no coincidence. With Julia Schroffenegger, Martin Gietl and Markus Schifferle, the athletes work with experienced trainers who understand how to combine fun and effort and in this way motivate the athletes in the best possible way.

In addition to the purely sporting aspects, other entertainment was also not neglected. New contacts were made and new friendships were made with other participants from all over Italy.

At the awards ceremony on the last day, Lebenshilfe was awarded the honorary “Memorial Adriana Visintini” award as the best team of the event.

Cross-country skiers Katya Flacco (3x gold), Daniela Forer, Thomas Kircher (2x gold each), Michael Pichler (1x gold, 2x silver), Max Maranelli, Karin Saltuari (1x gold, 1x silver each) contributed to this , 1x bronze), Andreas Kofler (1x gold, 1x silver), Felix Forer, Gertrud Schatzer, Markus Schatzer, Marion Wolfensberger (1x gold each), Peter Schroffenegger, Anna Zingerle (3x silver each), Stefan Deflorian (1x silver, 1x Bronze) and Markus Terleth (three top ten placements) as well as the alpine skiers Silvia Schifferle (4x gold), Florian Jäger (3x gold), Mirko Frei, Erwin Mühlsteiger (2x gold, 2x silver each) and Matthias Hochrainer ( 2x silver, 2x bronze).

With cold weather but excellent slopes and cross-country ski trails, there was a real shower of medals for the Lebenshilfe athletes at the eighth FISDIR Italian Championships in Tarvisio.
