Mölgg misses the podium in Madonna - Kristoffersen wins

In front of 16.000 spectators on the edge of the slalom slope in Madonna di Campiglio, Mölgg offered two evenly strong runs. After fifth place in the first round, he was able to improve again and put the starters behind him under pressure with the best time. It was the third-placed driver of the first run, Fassaner Gross, who stole the lead from him. Afterwards, the Austrian Marcel Hirscher hit the slopes with a sensational ride. However, this was topped again: the exceptional Norwegian talent Henrik Kristoffersen showed no nerves and took victory with a lead of 33 hundredths. In the end, Mölgg took fourth place behind Hirscher and Gross. The man from Enneberg was around a second and a half behind the leaders.

"In the end, I was only a tenth away from third place. But my friend Stefano Gross earned it. I'm taking the strong second run with me to further increase my self-confidence for the next races," said Mölgg after the race.

Thaler also in the top ten In addition to Gross and Mölgg, another Azzurro, Sarner veteran Patrick Thaler, made it into the top ten. He defended ninth place from the first race. Riccardo Tonetti from Bolzano was eliminated in the first round.
