Mölgg and Pardeller in Levi are extremely strong – Maze wins

Tina Maze clearly stole the show from Slalom overall World Cup winner Mikaela Shiffrin at the start of the season. While the favored American had to make do with eleventh place, the Slovenian played her best and confidently secured victory. She used first place from the first run to keep her rivals at bay in the decision with a controlled ride. Maze relegated Swede Frieda Hansdotter to second place with a lead of 0,34 seconds. The podium was completed by Austrian Kathrin Zettel (+0,52 seconds), who pushed Maria Pietilä-Holmner from Sweden into third place.

Furious comeback from Mölgg Manuela Mölgg was also one of the major leading actresses in the finale. With start number 52, she had already impressed in the first round in 27th place, but then she was able to improve it again and conjure up another error-free run on the snow. She put a lot ahead of her competitors, especially in the lower part of the route. As a result, many of them cut their teeth on Mölgg's time. In the end, the experienced Enneberger woman gained 15 places and even missed the top ten in twelfth place. She was 2,30 seconds behind Maze.

Pardeller with record results

Sarah Pardeller's joy was even greater in the finish area. The 26-year-old from Deutschnofen recorded her best World Cup result with 15th place. So far, 20th place in the preseason in Courchevel was her personal highlight. In the second round in Levi, after finishing 16th in the first run, she was more concerned about safety, but was still able to improve the result. In the end she was 2,41 seconds behind the leader.

The World Cup program in Levi continues on Sunday with the men's slalom. The first round starts at 10 a.m., the second at 12 p.m.
