After death threats – Neureuther is now speaking

Urs Kryenbühl was already in the spotlight before the season. The background was his vaccination status, as the Swiss decided not to be vaccinated against the coronavirus. This led to the sad fact that the athlete had received a death threat ( SportNews reported). At the turn of the year, today's TV expert Felix Neureuther commented on the incident. The German was then accused of trivializing the crime.

On Friday he tried to resolve the situation and explain the misunderstanding. “Because some people wrote to me saying that I supported the fact that Kryenbühl received death threats because he was not vaccinated. Tell me, is it still okay?” Neureuther began his tirade. In view of the serious allegations, Neureuther feels misunderstood. He simply pointed out that he could have been vaccinated. And he sticks to this opinion, he made it clear on social media. However, he doesn't want to have anything to do with the death threats: “I clearly distance myself from that, it's not something to be trifled with. “I’ve gotten that myself, it’s not funny,” he continued.

Nevertheless, he wanted to point out again that Kryenbühl also has a certain responsibility as a professional athlete. “If you as an athlete have the privilege these days to do your job, meet people, travel around world history and so on, then I believe it is important to use this role model function and lead by example,” stated Neureuther.
