After Olympic gold: Vinschger coach leaves Sweden

A long coaching career At the age of 18, Thoma had already completed ski instructor training and then trainer training. He finally ended his active skiing career in 1997 at the age of just 23. At the age of 16 he suffered a torn cruciate ligament. After his active skiing career, he taught for a year at the sports high school in Mals in 1998 and looked after the South Tyrolean state team in 1999. In 2000 he became the slalom coach for the Italian men's skiers. After Thoma worked as a coach for Italy's national teams for years, he moved to Finland in 2010, where, among other things, he looked after Tanja Poutiainen as the women's head coach for two years. The move to Sweden finally took place in the 2/2012 season and the beginning of another success story.
