After tumor illness: Elena Fanchini is training again

The news made waves: At the beginning of January, Elena Fanchini explained that she was suffering from a benign tumor . The season was over for the eldest of the three Fanchini sisters - but even then she didn't think about ending her career. “I will come back stronger,” was her motto.

Now, four months after the news, she is taking the first steps to make this plan a reality. An Instagram video shows Fanchini sweating in the weight room and putting in a lot of effort. As several entries on her Instagram page show, the downhill and super-G specialist completed a few ski lessons back in April.

Fanchini could celebrate its comeback as early as next winter. In her career so far, the 33-year-old has celebrated two World Cup victories and was also runner-up in the World Cup in Santa Caterina in 2005.
